Beiersdorf appoints new Chief Information Officer

Barbara Saunier is to become the new Chief Information Officer of Beiersdorf AG from April 1st 2010

Barbara Saunier (54) is to become the new Chief Information Officer (CIO) of Beiersdorf AG effective April 1st, 2010. At the same time she will take over management of Beiersdorf’s IT affiliate Beiersdorf Shared Services GmbH (BSS). Saunier currently heads the IT and Logistics units at tesa, a wholly owned Beiersdorf subsidiary.

In this role, Saunier was responsible for the systematic expansion of tesa’s IT department, which is independent of Beiersdorf’s facilities. (Very independent according to www.cio.de which quotes their motto as "Pay no attention to the directives in the parent company".) In 2005, she also assumed responsibility at tesa for the Supply Chain Management and Logistics departments. Tesa means "adhesive tape", hence the picture with this story. Before moving to tesa, Barbara Saunier spent ten years working in various functions in Beiersdorf’s IT department.

She succeeds Dr. Ernst Gadermann who will retire at the end of March
