Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimise new product formulations using a variety of chemical compounds and ingredients.
- Conducting laboratory experiments and follow stability and compatibility testing of approved formulations.
- Analyse data and provide technical reports on formulation properties, performance, and stability.
- Collaborate with other team members, including engineers and product managers, to ensure that formulations meet product specifications and project timelines.
- Stay current with industry trends and new developments in the field of formulation chemistry.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and keep detailed records of experiments and test results.
- Follow laboratory safety procedures and maintain a safe and clean working environment.
- Generating INCIs.
- Manage the transfer from lab to manufacturing and advise on risk in scale up.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in formulation chemistry, preferably in the development of consumer products.
- Knowledge of chemical principles, including organic and inorganic chemistry, as well as experience working with various chemical compounds and ingredients.
- Knowledge of EU / UK / US Cosmetics Directive.
- Experience with laboratory equipment and techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse data and make recommendations for optimisation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly present technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Confident and self-driven.
